Remembering them

If you have landed here, we are sorry. We will keep this brief and practical.

The photo does not need to be a good one

This is the part people worry about most, so we will say it first. Send whatever you have. Old, grainy, taken on a phone in 2011, slightly out of focus, the last one anyone thought to take — that is normally exactly the photo people bring us, and it is fine.

We work from what makes them them: the shape of the face, the set of the ears, the markings, the expression they always had. A sharp photo helps. A meaningful one matters more.

You will see it before you decide anything

No paying up front and waiting to find out. The drawing appears in about a minute. If it is not right, draw it again, or try a different style, or leave. Nothing is charged either way, and nobody will chase you.

Adding their name and years

You can add their name. If you want their years as well, put them in the personalisation box like this — Bess  2011–2024 — and we will set them underneath, small.

Plenty of people would rather have just the name, or nothing at all. All three are normal.

What people usually choose

Most people pick something that lives in the house rather than something they wear — a canvas, an art print, or a mug that gets used every morning. The Drawing and Watercolour styles tend to suit this best; the screen print is a bit loud for it.

If there were two of them, we can draw both and put them together.

If you would rather talk to someone

Email us through the contact page. A person reads it, and there is no rush at our end.
